Experience report from Project Managers at BBC iPlayer

Presenters: Katherine Kirk & Anita Kim

Format: Formal, 60 mins (but flexible to do any other format)

Experience report about how Project Managers at BBC iPlayer very recently gathered together and began to resolve long standing politics between inter-dependent teams in "Future Media & Technology - Products On Demand" by creating a department-wide 'Dependency Board' that is used to visualise and expose dependencies, encourage collaboration, motivate higher level management and work towards real resolutions... with great success so far.  We would also be requesting suggestions and feedback from others who work in similarly 'politically charged' scenarios.

NEW DEVELOPMENT (Nov 2010): We recenty had *another* re-org of the department, which has thrown up some interesting twists - so we're also bringing plenty of fodder to the table which we hope will facilitate some great feedback and discussions drawn from the wealth of experience of those attending - Katherine
