Using Balanced Scorecards To Deliver Minimal Viable Products

Session Title: Using Balanced Scorecards To Deliver Minimal Viable Products

Submitters: Karl Scotland & Simon Bennett

Abstract:

Many projects appear to have little room for flexibility with managing scope. This means that discussions about prioritising scope often turn into "all or nothing" conversations. The Balanced Scorecard is a technique to enable collaboration around scope without appearing to have to cut out any functionality. This allows a greater chance of successful delivery on a given date.

This presentation will introduce the concept of the Balanced Scorecard, describe an experience report from a project on which it was used, and relate it to similar ideas such as Dimensional Planning and Story Mapping.
