Title:

The Ventouris Story - the largest agile J2EE project that was delivered in the Benelux in the period 2005 - 2009.

Submitters: Johan Lybaert & Jan Van Reusel

Abstract:

The Ventouris project is a from scratch development in java of a complex administrative application used by 8 concurrent companies to handle the social security rights of the self employeed people in Belgium. The application has been build using a combination of Scrum & XP Practices aswell as PMI based Program Management practices. The project started in 2005 and finished in Jan 2009 with the final roll-out to the last of 8 customers. It took us in total 30.000 mandays - the team at peak was 60 people - 4 feature teams in parallel + a migration team & deployment team and of course a program management team.

In this story we will show how the agile scrum and XP practices can be used in a very succesfull way for a large custom based development. We will for each of the best practices explain how we adpated ourselves and the classical procedures to make it work.

I like that this session tells a story from a real-experience and how agile practices were adapted.

I would like to understand how much time you need to present this.
